Peacock Ouji custom set

This project is a custom set- shirt, vest, and shorts- inspired by peacocks and the Japanese Ouji or prince style. The double breasted cut of the vest and the large sleeves of the shirt draw from Victorian fashion, which is also the starting inspiration for a lot of ouji fashion. The ouji influence adds a cuteness- like shorts rather than trousers, accessories, and lighter colors.

This set involved creating a custom fitted block, then using that block to create a custom pattern set, then the set was fit tested. The outer shell of cotton muslin was dyed by hand to coordinate with the wool peacock feather lining, and then the set could finally be assembled.
